Steve Murray is the recently retired Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Commissioner with over three decades of leadership in collegiate athletics, with a focus on both competitive success and academic achievement. He held the commissioner role for 29 years, ending his time as the then-longest tenured Commissioner in Division II.  

Murray was widely recognized for prioritizing the educational mission of member institutions and ensuring athletics supported, rather than overshadowed, academic and institutional goals 

Having begun his career at the Division I level at Centenary College of Louisiana (now Division III), Murray has an extensive variety of career experiences and  oversight, including NCAA and Division II Commissioners leadership positions. Strategic planning, governance and leadership development and mentorship have been hallmarks of his career.
