Point Park Athletic Director Focused on Giving Back to the Profession

The Business of Small College Athletics (BOSCA) announced today the addition of John Ashaolu, Athletic Director at Point Park University, to their Advisory Board.

Ashaolu was appointed as Athletic Director at Point Park in August of 2018. Point Park has flourished under his leadership reaching new heights in competitive success, academic achievement, and community engagement. Ashaolu has also developed community and sponsor engagement programs that have led to significant increases in external revenue generation and multiple facility upgrades.

Prior to coming to Point Park Ashaolu served as the Director of Athletics and Student Programs at Community College of Beaver County and worked on men’s basketball coaching staffs at Trinity Valley Community College, Duquesne University, and East Carolina University. In addition to BOSCA, Ashaolu is active in NAIA National Committees, MOAA, NAADD, and NACDA.

“It is truly exciting to add John Ashaolu to our BOSCA Advisory Board, said BOSCA Founder Jim Abbott. John is very engaged as an athletic administrator and brings a level of experience and passion for growth that our board will benefit from. I look forward to his contributions and have no doubt that he will have a positive impact on programming that we provide to administrators around the country.”

“I am elated to serve an organization that is truly intentional about positively impacting college athletic departments across the country, Ashaolu said. I am thankful for the professional development opportunities that BOSCA has provided for me as well as the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with colleagues in our industry. These relationships are essential to the future of college sports, and I look forward to ‘paying it forward’ to an organization that has poured into me”
