Converse Athletic Director Brings Diverse Experience

The Business of Small College Athletics (BOSCA) announced today that Jenn Bell, Athletic Director at Converse University, has been added to the BOSCA Advisory Board.

Since arriving in the summer of 2018, Bell has made significant changes throughout the Converse athletic department. Under Bell’s leadership, the Valkyries have developed a winning culture – in the classroom, in the sports venue, and in the community. Throughout the institution’s recent model change, Bell led the department through a successful transition from a single-gender athletics program to a coed program by adding six male sports, esports, and a spirit squad to the list of athletic programs offered at Converse University. With these eight additions, Converse Athletics now offers 21 athletic programs, which more than doubles the number of student-athletes within the department. As the new programs have been added, more staff members have been brought on board, and the department has nearly doubled in size with the addition of assistant coaches and additional administrators.

“We are thrilled to have Jenn Bell join the BOSCA Advisory Board,” said BOSCA Founder Jim Abbott. “Jenn’s background as a coach and administrator and her passion for personal growth position her perfectly to contribute to our goals to provide the best professional development opportunities for small college athletic administrators.”

“I am honored to be selected as an advisory board member for BOSCA,” Bell said. “Being part of an organization that focuses on and empowers small college athletic administrators has been a game changer for my professional growth. Not only have the workshops and programming provided me with more resources and confidence as a fairly new director of athletics, but the network of small college athletic administrators has been incredibly influential along the way. I look forward to working with the advisory board as we continue to focus on serving others in this ever-changing world of college athletics.”
