BOSCA Announces 2026 Fall Regional Workshop in New England
Event to be held October 19, 2026 at Assumption University
The Business of Small College Athletics (BOSCA) announced today plans to host a Fall 2026 regional workshop to serve small college athletic administrators in New England.
BOSCA Regional workshops are one-day professional development and networking events that are designed for athletic administrators at small colleges and universities in a region. The workshops are organized by a group of peer administrators that represent schools in the region and offer an affordable opportunity for growth and interaction with relevant topics and presenters.
“The biggest challenge that administrators have when it comes to professional development is the cost, said BOSCA Founder Jim Abbott.” It’s just not practical at a time when budgets are tighter than ever to buy a plane ticket, pay for a hotel and registration fee, and then participate in an event that focuses primarily on D1 institutions.” “Regional workshops provide departments the opportunity to bring multiple administrators to learn and interact with peers, all for less than a single flight to a national convention.”
Since 2023, BOSCA has organized successful regional workshops in Kansas City, MO, Kutztown, PA, Costa Mesa, CA, Winona, MN, Lakeland, FL, Belton, TX, Columbus, OH, and Greenville, SC.
Registration is now open for the New England regional workshop which will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026 in Worcester, MA on the campus of Assumption University. This event marks a return for BOSCA to New England with the initial event in the Fall of 2024 attracting nearly 100 administrators.
“Assumption University is thrilled to host the BOSCA Fall Regional Workshop,” said Assumption Athletic Director Eric Gobiel. “This event provides a valuable opportunity for like-minded athletic administrators to engage in meaningful professional development, collaborate on shared challenges, and expand professional networks. Each time I attend BOSCA events I have walked away inspired and with new ideas on how to enhance our department.”
“The BOSCA workshops are a great opportunity to connect with regional colleagues and dive into the topics and challenges that matter the most at our levels,” said Smith College Athletic Director Kristin Hughes. With the rapidly changing landscape in college athletics, connecting with like-minded institutions becomes increasingly impactful.”
