BOSCA Announces Return to Winona, MN for Fall 2026 Regional Workshop
Event to be hosted by Winona State University
The Business of Small College Athletics (BOSCA) announced today plans to host a Fall 2026 regional workshop in Winona, MN.
BOSCA Regional workshops are one-day professional development and networking events that are designed for athletic administrators at small colleges and universities in a region. The workshops are organized by a group of peer administrators that represent schools in the region and offer an affordable opportunity for growth and interaction with relevant topics and presenters.
“The biggest challenge that administrators have when it comes to professional development is the cost, said BOSCA Founder Jim Abbott.” It’s just not practical at a time when budgets are tighter than ever to buy a plane ticket, pay for a hotel and registration fee, and then participate in an event that focuses primarily on D1 institutions.” “Regional workshops provide departments the opportunity to bring multiple administrators to learn and interact with peers, all for less than a single flight to a national convention.”
Since 2023, BOSCA has organized successful regional workshops in Kansas City, MO, Kutztown, PA, Worcester, MA, Costa Mesa, CA, Lakeland, FL, Belton, TX, Columbus, OH, and Greenville, SC.
Registration is open now for the Winona, MN regional workshop which will be held on the campus of Winona State University on Monday, October 5, 2026. 2026 marks the 2nd time that a BOSCA workshop has been held in Winona. The 2024 BOSCA workshop attracted more than 100 administrators from around the region.
“Winona State is thrilled to bring the BOSCA Regional Workshop back to Winona this Fall,” said WSU Athletic Director Jen Flowers. The first Workshop held at WSU in 2024 was outstanding and we’re looking forward to making the 2026 version even better. The BOSCA Regional Workshop provides a tremendous opportunity for professional development for small college athletics administrators and campus partners as we work toward strengthening our departments and enhancing the student-athlete experience on our campuses.
“We are thrilled to have our peers join us for a day of growth in Winona, MN,” said Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota Athletic Director Brian Sisson. The speakers and topics at BOSCA events are vast and relevant and the opportunities to network with peers in the region are invaluable.”
In its 14th year, BOSCA exists to provide professional development and growth opportunities to athletic administrators at D2, D3, NAIA, and 2-year colleges and universities. BOSCA provides multiple in-person workshops annually, virtual growth opportunities through the BOSCA Leadership Academy and BOSCA Revenue Generation Academy, and campus consulting services among other offerings. More than 600 administrators have participated in BOSCA programming over the past year. To learn more about BOSCA visit www.smallcollegeathletics.com
